Old Michael Jackson songs never released have been found!

Episode from Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 04:46

Imagine… Forgotten audio cassettes, dormant for decades in a Californian storage unit, containing unreleased tracks by the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson. These recordings, dating from the period 1989-1991, have just resurfaced. A find that opens a small window to the creative process of a musical genius.

These tapes were discovered by Gregg Musgrove, a former police officer turned treasure hunter. He was exploring an abandoned warehouse when he came across these precious cassettes, which belonged to Bryan Loren, producer and collaborator of Michael Jackson. Among the titles found, we speak in particular of “Don’t Believe It”a song that appears to be a response to the media rumors surrounding Michael at the time. And that’s not all?! There would also be a new duet with rapper LL Cool J, entitled “Truth On Youth”.

But be careful, before dreaming of these songs in our playlists, you should know that their public distribution remains unlikely. Michael Jackson’s rights holders strictly control his artistic heritage, and no authorization has been given to exploit these cassettes. So what will happen? Gregg Musgrove plans to keep them or sell them to a private collector… But legally, everything is still unclear.

Beyond the legal aspects, this discovery reminds us that Michael Jackson, even after his disappearance, continues to fascinate and inspire. These songs, even inaccessible, offer an overview of his artistic approach at a pivotal period in his career, just before the album Dangerous.

Perhaps one day, these pieces will resurface, legally this time, to further enrich the musical heritage of an artist who marked his era…
