But what catches everyone’s attention – or almost – is his age. EIndeed, she is 34 years old. This is the first time that such an “old” Miss France has been elected because the age restriction (from 18 to 25 years old) was lifted two years ago.

Elodie Gossuin: Geneviève would not have adhered to the new regulations
In front of journalists Nicolas Vollaire and Sarah Lecoeuvre, Élodie Gossuin, Miss France 2001 declared: “It’s just that it’s evolving. Before, it was more pink, ready to bloom, 18 years old, fresh, and which transformed in a year. She was a bit like the young girl who became a young woman, a princess. It’s evolving. But last year, we criticized Eve Gilles non-stop. It was to say: ‘she has short hair, she has short hair’, today, Angélique, ‘she is 34, she is 34’, it’s boring too.”
“It’s annoying. I find that boring” continued Élodie Gossuin, who has since become a TV and radio host. The one who was very close to Geneviève De Fontenay recognized that the latter would not have adhered to these changes.
“Would it have been too much for her, all these new criteria?” asks the journalist. “She did not join, because indeed, Geneviève, her institution, and for me she will always remain the guarantor of Miss France, and even in this legacy, I hear it, where for her Miss France is the little bride of the French. She always said it and I understand that this princess side implies rules: an age, a status, but like all professions.”
