Wesley Bouquet, who designed Assia Roosz-Tomenti’s atypical combination, protested against the beauty pageant committee and their use of his work.

It was one of the great moments of the election Miss France : the costume parade representing the regions of each candidate. One of the thirty presented was particularly commented on: that of Assia Roosz-Tomenti, Miss Lorraine. White and green jumpsuit, golden headdress, colorful cape: the 25-year-old young woman could not go unnoticed. Some have even compared her to a superhero, to Buzz Lightyear, to a member of the Power Rangers…

Wesley Forstinger, the creator of this outfit, wanted to defend it on his Facebook account. The fruit of her work in the service of the Miss Lorraine committee was carried by Assia Roosz-Tomenti… in the wrong direction. “The suit fits fine, it was “JUST” put on backwards…”he wrote in a Facebook publication posted overnight from Saturday to Sunday. Viewers were therefore able to admire the back – and not the front – of this very special outfit.

A nod to Cathedral

If his creation remains atypical, the young man does not deserve it. “I had the committee, the costume designer, a lot of people on the phone”he adds in his publication. “In all this bad there is some positive, we will issue a press release on this soon and things should get better.” His post contains photographs of the costume the right way up, as well as close-ups of the details. He adds: “Anyway, this is what the costume should have looked like…”

Despite the mockery she may have received, Miss Lorraine’s outfit was full of cultural references linked to the region’s heritage. Designer Wesley Forstinger shared, without revealing everything, the details of the costume with our colleagues at Lorraine Actu. “There will be a lot of Metz in this costume”he told them. Once revealed – in a good way – we can indeed see on the costume a graoully, a mythological creature from the region, or a nod to the Metz cathedral in the cape.

Under his publication, Internet users support him and defend his creation. “I understand why the costume seemed weird to me when I saw it”, “I am extremely sorry for you, for all the work you had done on it”, “Despite everything, one of the most beautiful costumes, originality, great work, well done”can we read in the comments.
