Saturday December 14 took place the election of Miss France 2025 at the Futuroscope Arena in Poitiers. It was Miss Martinique who ultimately won the beauty contest.
But other important moments of the ceremony created a buzz on social networks, notably the parade regional costumes. The outfit worn by Miss Lorraine, Assia Roosz-Tomenti, sparked many reactions.
Miss Lorraine’s outfit caused a buzz on social networks
The parade of regional outfits is a much awaited moment by viewers of Miss France. Each of the Misses wears a costume that represents their region. Assia Roosz-Tomenti, Miss Lorraine, has been talked about a lot on social networks.
Indeed, her white and green jumpsuit was compared to superhero costumes: Avengers, Buzz Lightyear… all the references were out there! Unfortunately, the mockery quickly arrived, to the great displeasure of Assia Roosz-Tomenti but also of the creator of her outfit, Wesley Forstinger.
The designer of Miss Lorraine’s costume gives his opinion
Working from Jarny in Meurthe-et-Moselle, Wesley Forstinger shared on Facebook photos of the costume he had worked on. He explains the outfit had been put on backwards during the ceremony. What was believed to be the back of the garment was supposed to be at the front.
“I had the committee, the costume designer, a lot of people on the phone. The costume fits well, it was ‘JUST’ put upside down…“he wrote on his account. This is a damaging error because the costume worn by Miss Lorraine should have highlighted certain cultural references of the region. According to Wesley Forstinger, the suit was meant to pay homage at Metz Cathedral and the legend of Graoully, a mythical dragon associated with the city.
A failure during the Miss France 2025 ceremony
Unfortunately, viewers will not have been able to enjoy the work performed by Wesley Forstinger to create Miss Lorraine’s outfit. The latter therefore expressed his frustration because the final result was far of his hopes.
This miss reminds us of another. Last year, the costume worn by Miss Lorraine (already!) also caused lots of mockery from Internet users. Created by Maël Charton, the outfit was a dress in the shape of a table, garnished with regional dishes. It was the very design of this costume that created the buzz, whereas this year, it’s more of a failure involuntary.
