“This is what it should have looked like”, the creator of Miss Lorraine’s costume evokes a hiccup

During the Miss 2025 election, Assia Roosz-Tomenti, aka Miss Lorraine, paraded with her regional costume, like all the other Misses. But nothing went as planned according to the costume designer. We tell you everything.

This Saturday, December 14, 2024, took place the election of Miss France 2025. A ceremony that many were impatiently awaiting. Just like the 30 Miss parade with their regional costume. Indeed, it is always a key moment in the evening, where viewers try to find the local references highlighted on the costumes. This year, Miss Île-de-France’s costume with the Moulin Rouge was voted best regional costume!

But other costumes did not fail to make Internet users react (not positively), including Miss Lorraine’s costume. In fact, Internet users did not understand the creator’s intention and also did not understand why his costume looked like a combination of superheroes with references that seemed to come straight from the Avengers, Power Rangers or even Buzz Lightyear. And there might well be an explanation for that.

Miss France 2025: the creator of the costume speaks

Indeed, as revealed BFMTVWesley Forstinger, the designer of Miss Lorraine’s costume spoke in a Facebook publication. And the latter reveals that the costume was put on backwards! He probably had to jump out of his chair when he saw his costume on stage. “I had the committee, the costume designer, a lot of people on the phone. The costume fits well, it was ‘JUST’ put upside down…”, he confided on Facebook

Thus, viewers were not able to see all the intricacies of Miss Lorraine’s regional costume. But luckily, the designer shared photos of the costume, clarifying that this is what it should have looked like. Later, Wesley Forstinger spoke to Lorraine Actu, specifying all the nods that we should have seen on the costume, namely: Cathedral, but also a nod to Graoully, mythical animal with the appearance of a dragon, which, according to legend, lived in the amphitheater of Metz. The designer had also sewn little dragons on the collar of the suit which we could not see.

A call for calm

But the costume designer is far from holding a grudge. Indeed, in his publication, he adds: “Please stop harassing the dresser or whoever. Audiovisual jobs are difficult professions, often carried out under pressure. Every person is human, and mistakes happen, especially given the pace required for such events!”

Before saying they are happy and reassured for the future. And for good reason, hiccups can happen in this type of ceremony which still lasts 3 hours and takes place live. As a reminder, it is Angélique Angarni-Filopon, the oldest of the competition who was elected Miss France 2025.
