“Bibiche”, who brought Joe Dassin and Claude François, has left us

With his death at the age of 81, a whole page in the history of the town of Gaillon (Eure) has been turned. Gérard Delomela colorful character, better known by his nickname “ Bibiche » was born in October 1943 in Gaillon.

It was then that Gérard Delomel, who lacked neither a spirit of initiative nor cheekiness, brought together around thirty friends including René-Jacques Antiome, René Sorin, Daniel Latreille, Pierrette Valleye, Raymond Timbert and many others .

Thus the Youth Club was born, a friendly organization whose aim was to wake up the city by organizing balls at the castle, most often hosted by Sevy Goldenamong other shows and outings.

It is also participation in various local events. Having become “Bibiche”, Gérard and his band were the only ones to have brought two singing stars to Gaillon in a recital under a marquee set up in the Jardins de bas, then an unbuilt site.

First of all, it will be Joe Dassin’s show which will leave everyone with excellent memories. “A great guy, simple and nice with whom we had a drink,” Bibiche remembered. This was not the case for the second guest: Claude François. Spectators and organizers will remember the unpleasant side of Cloclo.

Pass the time, much less young, Gérard Delomel and his friends hung up the disguises and enthusiasm of their twenties. “Bibiche” kept his nickname and everyone always enjoyed meeting him in town.

In recent years, in his house in Saint-Aubin-sur-Gaillon, health problems did not spare him and his wife. At the time of his death, everyone will keep the memories of a period when life was good.

The religious funeral was celebrated Thursday, December 12 at the Gaillon church, followed by his cremation at the Évreux crematorium.
