Ryan Reynolds suggests that Blake Lively is from the ‘working class’ and it doesn’t sit well

Blake Lively faced widespread criticism after Ryan Reynolds implied she was from the “working class” during a conversation about their children.

“We try to give them as normal a life as possible. I try not to impose on them the difference between their childhood and mine or that of my wife,” the 48-year-old actor told The Hollywood Reporter.

“We’re both from working class backgrounds and I remember when they were very young I would say to myself or think, ‘Oh my God, I would never have had a gift like that when I was a kid’ , or “I would never have had the luxury of being able to eat takeout”, or other things like that.

However, fans were quick to react after The Cut posted a photo of the couple, captioned “Let’s dissect this statement.”

“Stop trying to make ‘Blake like everyone else’ possible, it will NOT happen,” one user wrote.

Another noted information about the 37-year-old actress’ upbringing in the affluent Tarzana neighborhood of Los Angeles.

“Quick search: She grew up in Tarzana and went to high school in Burbank. His whole family was in the entertainment business,” we can read. “She played in Sisterhood for the Traveling Pants when she was a teenager. This at least gives the middle class.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have been married since 2012 and share daughters James, 10, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, and 1-year-old son Olin.
