On December 14, 2024, Angélique Angarni-Filopon won the crown of Miss France 2025. She won over the jury and viewers during an evening broadcast from the Arena Futuroscope near Poitiers. After being elected first runner-up to Miss Martinique in 2011, Angélique Angarni-Filopon set herself the goal of winning the crown, encouraged by those close to her and by the relaxation of admission criteria. Indeed, these changes, introduced in 2022, include an extension of the age limit (previously set at 24 years), as well as the possibility for female candidates to have tattoos or marital status. “When the age limit was lifted, I decided to try my luck again. The dream has not left me. At 34, I have a different outlook on life and I want to be an inspiring woman on a large scale. I prove that there is no expiration date for women who dream of becoming Miss France“, she declared before the competition.
Angélique Angarni-Filopon (Miss France 2025) shows her two tattoos
In an interview given to our colleagues at BFMTVAngélique Angarni-Filopon, 34, revealed she has two tattoos, which she wears proudly and whose meanings she shared on set. “Yes, I have two!“, she said smiling, pointing to the inside of her forearm. The first tattoo, near the wrist, is a sign of infinity accompanied by the words “Love and God to infinity“. “I was 20 years old, and I did this with my sister while on vacation in Miami“, she says. The second tattoo, also on the forearm, bears an inscription in Creole: “I am blessed“. Miss France 2025 explains that this is a reference to a song by Meryl, a Martinican artist, entitled Blessed. A beautiful tribute to its origins. The journalists also asked her if she spoke Creole. “Of course !“, she replied, before concluding the interview: “To say goodbye, we can say ‘A on lot soley’, which means ‘to another sun.'”
Miss France 2025: Angélique Angarni-Filopon will not be able to participate in Miss World, but will be able to join Miss Universe
Despite her coronation, Angélique Angarni-Filopon will not be able to represent France in the Miss World competition. The criteria in fact impose a strict age limit of 27 years, thus excluding Miss France 2025. In addition, the successive cancellations of Miss World, notably in 2020 and 2021, have disrupted the calendar of French candidates. For example, Miss France 2020, Clémence Botino, represented France during the last edition in March 2024, thus shifting the participation of the following Misses. On the other hand, Angélique Angarni-Filopon will be able to claim the title of Miss Universe, where the eligibility criteria have evolved in recent years.
