Saturday December 14, 2024 was an exceptional evening. Indeed, Eve Gilles, our former beauty queen, gave way to Miss France 2025 who is none other than Angélique Angarni-Filoponwho represented Martinique. This is a historic election since at 34 years old, she is the oldest Miss in history! But Angélique Angarni-Filopon was not chosen by the viewers: the public’s favorite is Sabah Aïb, Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais, crowned first runner-up. Obviously, the other regions are disappointed to know that their Miss is not the winner. The committee of Miss Auvergne does not hide his annoyance. Especially since an Auvergne has never been elected Miss France…
“We had prepared her a lot, there was a lot of content on social networks, a lot of mobilization around her. And then, she had a lot of visibility in the press because of her atypical profession. That she was not in the top 15 was a (bad) surprise and I have no explanation.“, tells Mélanie Billard, Miss Auvergne regional delegate, to our colleagues at The Mountain. Because for her, and for many Auvergnats, Miss France should have been Romane Agostinho, a beautiful 1m75 brunette who works as an animal osteopath. Ultimately, she didn’t make it to the top 15.”At each competition, Miss Auvergne is always well highlighted. We see it clearly. This election was no exception and Romane was at the top. And then, Miss Île-de-France was also eliminated, although we cannot say that she represents a region which does not have demographic weight, and Miss Corsica was elected 3rd runner-up even though it is not not the most populated region in France either“, complains Mélanie Billard.
Miss Auvergne elected Miss France next year?
But there’s no reason to lose hope! One day, Miss Auvergne will be elected Miss France. “We started something with this election. There is a renewed interest in Miss Auvergne and our partners have supported us wellwelcomes the regional delegate. We will continue this mobilization work and further improve the preparation of our Misses, particularly in terms of speaking, and increase their participation in events so that they are comfortable in public.“And to put things into perspective:”It’s a competition, that’s all. It’s super frustrating, but it’s the game, even if it was a big disappointment, because we expected Romane to qualify.“See you next year.
