“I had to lose weight”: Louise Monot talks about her physical transformation for OSS 117: Rio no longer responds

“It’s fiction with a real story”assures Louise Monot about Santa at homee, which she describes as a social comedy. “It's not a series of sketches put together, we have a real common thread with the main role of Medi Sadoun, who is Santa Claus who will have to deliver Christmas presents to individuals, and he will fall on quite original people.”

The actress returns to the atmosphere of filming the TV film in which many French actors are participating: François Berléand, Camille Lellouche, Fred Testot, François-Xavier Demaison… All under the leadership of director Manu Joucla. “It was really a great adventure, but very short as it is an ensemble film,” remembers the one that only toured for five days. “I wish it would have lasted a lot longer. (…) It was just love, this shoot.”

If she is today on television, Louise Monot's first love is in reality cinema. The 42-year-old is known for her roles in The little handkerchiefs et OSS 117: Rio no longer responds. It is also about her preparation for the filming of the latter that she confides. “I know that for OSS, I had to slim down a little”delivers the one who played Dolorès Koulechov opposite Hubert Bonisseur in La Bath by Jean Dujardin.

However, she assures that this kind of physical transformation in the service of a role does not intimidate her. “I've already had roles where I had to gain weight, a long time ago, I had to play a belly dancer… So come on, the pancakes, the fries, it was great! Afterwards, to lose, it was less pleasant, on the other hand,” remembers Louise Monot. “But I love changes like that, that’s what’s great about our job.”
