Everything has not always been rosy for Laury Thilleman, quite the contrary. Miss France 2011 actually went through a painful ordeal more than a year ago: burn-out. “I thought I was invincible. I thought anything could happen to me when I hit my own truck in the face. It's really that, but a 3 ton”she explains openly in a video posted a few hours ago on the Louie Media Instagram account.
The reasons for Laury Thilleman's burnout
Without filter, the one who also separated from her husband Juan Arbelaez in May 2022 talks about how her busy schedule had serious consequences on her mental health. “For 10 years, I was caught in a whirlwind of requests, of meeting the expectations of others and I think that deep down, I didn't really listen to myself. And it didn't fail, my body gave way, my head gave way, my heart said stop. I experienced real emotional, mental and physical chaos”she admits. Looking back, she recognizes that she didn't take the time to breathe for years, which was dangerous. “When I look back and see myself writing a book a year, doing broadcasts and live broadcasts, creating my podcast, my clothing brand… I say to myself: 'But when did you really believe that wasn't going to fart at some point?she says, evoking the black ball that was present inside her and which suddenly erupted.
How did Laury Thilleman find her smile again?
The host says she had a digital burnout before doing a general one. “I felt like I had to justify everything and that Instagram had become a showcase. I couldn't sort it out anymore.”she details, specifying that she “discovered his dark side” during this period which also brought back “wounds that had not been healed”. To get back on track, Laury Thilleman made a radical decision. She actually left France to go to Bali to do “what excites her most in the world: “sur”. “And one fine day in May, it'll be exactly a year ago, I'm surfing and I break my knee. I return to Paris, I am told that I have 4 months before walking again. Work stoppage (…) I said no to 18,000 things and it was the greatest gift of my life”she concludes by specifying that this forced break allowed her to relearn how to love herself and to heal.
