The couple has long been the stuff of Hollywood dreams… In 2005, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt fell in love on the set of the film Mr. And Mrs. Smith. If the two stars have six children, three of whom were adopted, they had three together. After eleven years of living together and two years of marriage, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce and requested sole custody of Maddox, born in 2001, Pax, born in 2003, Zahara, born in 2005, Shiloh, born in 2006, and twins Knox and Vivienne, born in 2008.
In 2017, in an interview with Vanity Fair, the 49-year-old actress spoke about the impact of their separation on their children. After ensuring that they had been “very courageous”it had indicated: “Sometimes they had to be.
We are all healing from the events that led to this ending… They don't heal from divorce. They heal from life, from the things of life. It's just a very difficult time and we're looking for fresh air.”.
Pax Jolie-Pitt: “You will never understand the damage you did to my family”
In recent years, it has been reported that Brad Pitt can sometimes be violent with his children. In 2023, the Daily Mail found a compromising publication on the private Instagram account of Pax Jolie-Pitt. “You continue to prove that you are a horrible and hateful person. You have no consideration,
no empathy towards your four youngest children who tremble with fear in your presence. You will never understand the damage you have done to my family, you are incapable of it”he wrote.
On Monday, December 2, 2024, the Daily Mail reported that Angelina Jolie won a major legal victory against her ex-husband after a judge ruled he must hand over documents and communications that could prove he was
violent towards her and their children.
A new victory for Angelina Jolie?
According to Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt would have been violent with their eldest son on a private plane in 2016. If the actor has always denied having been violent and has been cleared by law enforcement following an investigationhis ex-wife asked the court to force him to disclose everything that happened between September 14, 2016 and December 31, 2018. Last July, Angelina Jolie also filed documents claiming that the actor had tried to force her to sign an $8.5 million confidentiality agreement to cover up “years of abuse”.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Lia Martin issued her ruling after Jolie's lawyers said the documents would prove her claims that Brad Pitt tried to get her to sign a confidentiality agreement. The young woman's lawyers claim that
the documents will prove “communications concerning abuselies to the authorities and years of cover-up” from Brad Pitt.
