Marie-Anne Chazel reveals a funny anecdote about her first play with Le Splendid
Almost two months after the sudden death of Michel Blanc, the actors of Tanned do not miss a single opportunity to evoke the memory of their friend or memories of the Splendid. This is the case of Marie-Anne Chazel who recalls the first times she played with her friends. “The first play I played, but I was a teenager, we put it on in high school, it was a play called Schmürz or how to get rid of it. I remember it as if it were yesterday, yet it dates back”she tells our colleagues from Purepeople. Already at that time, she was opposite a certain Gérard Jugnot. “That was my very first memory” theater, she explains before continuing with a more funny anecdote. “My first memory with Le Splendid, I went on tour with them and we did a sketch show. I especially remember the wine, because it was in Gigondas and the first night we played, I had an absolutely monumental drunk. Me who absolutely never drank! It’s not very artistic”recalls Marie-Anne Chazel with a laugh. “I have so many memories. There are too many with The Splendid”concludes the former partner of Christian Clavier with a big smile.
Gérard Jugnot announces the latest Splendid project
The death of Michel Blanc occurred only a few weeks before the release of the book that Le Splendid had written together. This latest project was supposed to mark the reunion of this group of friends, but fate decided otherwise. Gérard Jugnot announced the publication of The Splendid by the Splendid. We had so much fun (Le Cherche-Midi) in the show C the weekly on France 5. On November 9, the actor of Backing singers declared that it was “an idea from Thierry [Lhermitte] for the benefit of medical research” before specifying that “this is the last time that Michel spoke and commented a little [leur] history”. The book, made up of magnificent photographs of the troupe, has been available in bookstores since November 21.
