In a blue setting reminiscent of the icy immensities of the globe, Prince Albert II did not fail to greet and warmly thank the philanthropists and personalities who responded to this invitation to the ball. Wearing a cream tuxedo jacket, the sovereign posed with his guest of honor, Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Singapore. Everyone came to support his foundation and the vast lounges of Singapore's Marina Bay were needed to host the event which raised five million Singapore dollars, or more than 3.5 million euros. A record collection, which will allow us to continue this fight for the environment dear to Prince Albert.
The fight continues
The festive sequence closed the prince's trip to Asia. Earlier in the day, the sovereign attended the eighth edition of the Ocean Innovators Platform, intended to promote innovation and companies working in this cutting-edge sector of the sustainable economy applied to the aquatic environment. “Today, we have all the tools in hand to rise to the occasion,” he recalled in his speech: “science, technology, global awareness to act decisively and a courageous leadership that is gaining momentum. […] “This is a rare moment when doing what’s good for the planet is also what’s good for investors.”

In an equally serious but much more playful register, the princely palace had shortly before broadcast images of Prince Albert's stay in the Solomon Islands, accompanied by the swimmer Pierre Frolla, where he joined the members of the Pristine Seas expedition organized by National Geographic. The place is a true sanctuary for marine species – one of the last still able to maintain a rich biodiversity – but also for international stars… The sovereign indeed met Leonardo DiCaprio, himself a great defender of the environmental cause through the actions of its own foundation. The two men know each other well since one has spoken with the other on numerous occasions, such as in 2017, when the actor was the host of the Monte-Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean. On board the boat sailing between the islands, the outfits were certainly a little less neat than on the red carpet of the Monaco gala, but the passion for the oceans which animated the two men was very intact!
