Dutch royal family chooses Amsterdam beguinage to mark city's 750th anniversary
Every year, King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and their three daughters, Princesses Catharina-Amalia, Alexia and Ariane pose together at two times: before the summer holidays and at the end of autumn before the period of holidays. In recent years, the organization of these two photo shoots has been a little disrupted due to the less and less compatible school calendars between the three princesses.
King Willem-Alexander, 57, and Queen Máxima, 53, chose to pose against the backdrop of the Amsterdam beguinage. The sessions are usually held in one of the royal palaces, in the gardens if the weather permits and sometimes even in nature, such as a beach or a park. This Friday, November 29, a unique setting was proposed by the Head of State. The choice fell on Amsterdam because next year many events will be organized in the capital, on the occasion of the celebrations of the 750th anniversary of its foundation.

Mambo was once again the center of attention
The beguinage is a very touristy area of Amsterdam. These are buildings forming an interior courtyard. It is the only interior in Amsterdam that was created during the Middle Ages. Among the buildings of the beguinage is an old church as well as the oldest house in the entire city, built in 1528.

The outfits of Queen Máxima and her daughters are still under scrutiny
The photo shoot is an opportunity to have new photos of the three girls, which was especially interesting when she was growing visibly during adolescence. This session is also an opportunity to bring the whole family together one last time publicly before the winter holidays, although now the session takes place at the end of November so that all three girls can participate. For several years, the dog Mambo has appeared in photos and always takes spontaneous photos. Finally, the last important element: the outfits of the queen and the princesses.

Princess Alexia, 19, who studies civil engineering at the University of London (UCL), wore a round-neck coat from Zara over a white shirt. Finally, Princess Ariane, 17, who is in her final year of secondary school at a UWC network boarding school in Italy near the Slovenian border, wore a bright pink coat with beige high-heeled boots.
