Meghan Markle and Elizabeth II: an argument over the Duchess of Sussex's tiara breaks out

Royal expert Richard Eden has revealed that an argument broke out during preparations for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding in May 2018. The row was, as reported by Daily
Mail
in his article of November 26, 2024, Meghan Markle's tiara, worn on her wedding day.

Before the big day, reports the British media, Queen Elizabeth II had graciously offered Archie and Lilibet's mother access to her tiara collection. The late queen allowed Meghan Markle to try on the tiaras in front of herself and Angela Kelly, her personal dresser. The one who would become Prince Harry's wife, however, had one request.

Meghan Markle didn't know how to deal with Elizabeth II's “maid”

Meghan Markle, 43, actually wanted to try on the tiaras when visiting her hairstylist. The Duchess of Sussex found that tiaras are complicated to wear and require prior fitting. Something went wrong when Prince Harry's wife tried to organize thefitting with Angela Kelly. It was difficult for them to agree on a date.

The tone of the messages seemed to annoy Angela Kelly, as the royal expert explains. Meghan Markle is: “perhaps used to giving orders to subordinates while filming for television“, explained Richard Eden, before adding: “Meghan may not have been used to dealing with someone like Kelly, who – although a servant – was also
a confidante of the queen“.
