“I overcame two cancers”: Patrick Sébastien talks about his health and wants to revive the World’s Largest Cabaret at the local level

Patrick Sébastien spoke about his life in the columns of Le Parisien on November 19, 2024. During the interview, he talks about his health, in particular the two cancers against which he fought.

He is making his return to the media scene. As part of his new work entitled “The Carnival of the Ambitious”the former presenter of the Biggest Cabaret in the World broadcast on 2, spoke to our colleagues at Parisian.

The now 71-year-old says his time on is over. “It's not made for me and I'm not made for them. I'm 70 years old, I'm not going to hang around on TV. And then my life is elsewhere”he said. However, today he has no shortage of projects and knows what he wants to do. “Since the beginning of the year, I have recorded an album, written a play, worked on another, performed galas with thousands of people across France… As long as I am physically able, I must be overactivehe confides to our colleagues.

“I am, however, worried about my children”

After announcing that he had recovered from kidney cancer and will have recovered well in 2023, the host affirms that he does not fear his death. “I'm not going to say that I would be happy to die soon, but today, it doesn't make me sad.”. “In view of the world that is preparing, I am however worried about my children”he reveals.

Even if he does not fear life after death, health remains important to him. “I am 71 years old and I live as if I were 40”. “Today everything is fine, I have overcome two cancers, I don't overindulge except for cigarettes, but we don't know what can happen. As long as I can still jump on stage, it's good . But the day I can't go up there anymore, I'm dead.”

And why not a “Smallest Cabaret in the world”?

While he says he is going back across France next spring, with numerous dates to revive his biggest hits and make his audience dance, the latter has a completely different project called “the Smallest Cabaret in the world”reference to the former famous France 2 weekend program.

“I’m going to install this a few kilometers from Martel, at my home in the Lot,” he announces. “Normally, I should be retired but I need all these activities. It amuses me to see the kids having a blast at my shows, to please the nostalgic too…”.
