Former Dead Sara singer Emily Armstrong recently shared her feelings about the moment she joined Linkin Park, describing the experience as “magical” but also intimidating.
Joining Linkin Park: a colossal challenge
Emily Armstrong has joined Linkin Park as its new singer, a huge responsibility after the loss of Chester Bennington. In a recent podcast episode with Mike Shinoda, she shared her initial feelings: “It was heavy. I was afraid of slipping up and telling someone I had been selected. I wanted so badly to share my happiness, but I had to keep it to myself.”
She also talks about how this new reality pushed her to avoid social interactions: “I didn't want to have superficial conversations. It was so hard not being able to say how happy I was.”

A moment of transformation
Emily fully realized the magnitude of this change after a studio session with Linkin Park: “Once we left the studio, I was like, 'Oh my God.' I was able to immerse myself in this new universe. It was like entering Disney World, a place full of magic and opportunity.”
For the singer, joining such an iconic group was not only a new chapter in her career, but also an experience that transformed her vision of the future: “Everything I could imagine suddenly seemed possible.”
Linkin Park's new album, From Zero, was released on November 15 by Warner and is already at the top of sales in France and the United Kingdom.
