widow, Maïwenn wants to raise awareness among a large number of people about this cancer

On November 15, actor Paul Teal, seen in The Scott Brothers, Outer Banks and The Walking Dead, took his last breath at the age of 35 after a fierce battle against pancreatic cancer. This illness had killed businessman Jean-Yves Le Fur a few months earlier at the age of 59. Guest of the Inter morning show on Sunday November 24, his widow, Maïwenn, wanted to speak openly about this digestive cancer which has progressed in recent years, particularly among people over 50, as highlighted by La Ligue contre cancer in 2023.

“It can affect a lot of people”

On November 21, Maïwenn took to her social networks to deliver an important message on the occasion of World Pancreatic Cancer Day: “Pancreatic cancer already kills three times more than road accidents! » A prevention that she continued with France Inter listeners: “I lost my husband 7 months ago to this illness. » And added: “I find that this disease has a bad reputation. I noticed that people don't really know how it can happen, who it affects, so it's important to me to really let people know who it can affect. (…) It can affect lots of people, very young men and women…”
