The residents of the path of the Republic came in large numbers, invited by the municipality of Lécoussenear Fougères (Ille-et-Vilaine)to officially inaugurate the monumental fresco measuring 11 by 5 meters made under the ring road bridge.
Started on July 18, it was completed on September 18. Behind this artistic challenge : Laura Quero-Lorcy, a young amateur artist from Lécousse, 22 years old.
Holder of a degree obtained at the Higher Institute of Applied Arts in Nantes, and after a gap year, she joined the French School of Decor in Nantes in September in order to deepen her skills in traditional techniques.
This work is both dense in its colors but also rich in details. Realistic, integrating perfectly into the nearby environment, with the Nançon river nearby, lined with trees and undergrowth…
She congratulated the young artist who is making amateur painting in her free time before recalling how this ambitious project started: “Laura came to propose her fresco project to the town hall of Lécousse. This was received with great enthusiasm by the living environment commission and the technical services. We supported it as best we could after obtaining authorizations from the Western Roads Directorate (Diro), owner of the bridge. We ensured his safety and provided him with scaffolding and paints chosen by Laura. »
For her part, the young artist thanked the residents of the neighborhood for having accompanied and supported her during these two months. In appreciation for the work accomplished, Laura received art books.
