Chris Fronzak plays down controversy surrounding Attila tour

Attila finds himself at the center of controversy with his new tour, while his frontman, Chris Fronzak, plays down the criticism. Despite the controversy, the group released a new song, titled Wastelandin collaboration with Joe Cotela of DED.

A controversial tour and shattering departures

Recently announced, the American tour America’s Rejects Attila's was originally planned to include Oceano, Dealer, and Nathan James. However, past allegations of abusive behavior surrounding Dealer singer Aidan Ellaz Holmes have sparked a wave of outrage. Musicians like Alpha Wolf's John Arnold and Fit For A King's Ryan O'Leary have publicly denounced the tour. Arnold notably described the event as a “rapist abuser tour”.

The controversy also revived accusations from 2020 against Chris Fronzak, as well as accusations that led to the firing of former Attila drummer Bryan McClure. In response to these criticisms, Oceano decided to leave the tour, a decision followed by the departure of their singer Adam Warren. The latter declared: “I am leaving the group in protest against a scene filled with predators.”

Fronzak minimizes the controversy

Faced with Oceano's withdrawal and criticism, Chris Fronzak reacted on social media, saying: “I don’t really care!” He also mocked critics as “cancel culture wannabes” and assured that Oceano's departure would not jeopardize the tour. According to him, “We’re going to make this tour even more awesome!”

For the moment, no announcement has been made regarding Oceano's replacement. The tour remains scheduled with Dealer and Nathan James, and will begin March 4, 2025 in Destin, Florida.

A new single despite the controversies

At the same time, Attila revealed Wastelanda song in collaboration with Joe Cotela, singer of DED. This release appears to ignore the criticism and aims to refocus attention on the band's music. Wasteland reflects Attila's typical energy, but its reception could be influenced by recent events.
