His voice rocked the faithful of “Questions for a Champion” from 1992 to 2016. William Pinville, historic voice-over of the France 3 game, died on November 19. The dubbing actor was responsible for briefly describing to viewers the profile of the four protagonists of each show, in addition to anticipating the arrival of Julien Lepers at the start of each issue of the program, for nearly 25 years. It was also his deep, warm voice that announced the gifts reserved for the candidates.
“Last week I wished him on his birthday”
William Pinville, who made a brief appearance in the game in 2015 (see the video at the top of the article), left “Questions for a Champion” when Julien Lepers was replaced by Samuel Etienne in February 2016. But since then, he had remained very close to the emblematic host of the show, as the latter confided to the microphone of “Culture Médias” on Europe 1 this Friday, November 22.
