Brad Pitt's parents haven't seen their six grandchildren in eight years due to the legal battle against Angelina Jolie

The legal battle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has alienated the children from the actor's parents. A situation that grandparents find difficult to accept.

Collateral victims? Since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, Brad Pitt has had a rocky relationship with their six children, with his daughter Shiloh even legally dropping her name last August. His parents have also been deprived of their grandchildren for almost a decade.

“Brad Pitt's parents haven't been able to see their beloved grandchildren for about eight years due to the ongoing divorce and legal battle between Brad and Angelina,” a source told the Daily Mail. William Alvin and Jane Etta Pitt were very present in the children's lives, with the duo being photographed with them on multiple occasions.

“Before the separation, they were part of the children's lives and they all spent a lot of time together. It's just heartbreaking to see that this is no longer the case. It's one thing for children not to see their father, but for Jane and Bill, not having contact with their precious grandchildren is sad. They are over 80 years old and to think that they will never be able to spend time with their children again is simply unbelievable,” the source added.

“Virtually no contact” between Brad Pitt and his three eldest children

Grandparents were last seen in public with their grandchildren at the “Unbroken” premiere in 2014, when Brad Pitt accompanied the children in place of Angelina Jolie, who had contracted chickenpox. The actor's mother praised her daughter-in-law after reporters, declaring: “We are very proud of Angie. This means a lot to our family, especially our grandchildren. We love him deeply.”

Before the legal tumult, the Hollywood star had an excellent relationship with her partner's parents. “When I first met them, I arrived with two children adopted from other countries and I didn't know how they were going to behave. But they are just as affectionate with them,” she explained.

In 2016, after just two years of marriage, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce. Three years later, the former spouses were declared legally single, but the battle over their Château Miraval estate continues.

Brad Pitt's relationship with his children has deteriorated significantly to the point where he has “virtually no contact” with the three oldest children. Zahara, Vivienne and Shiloh all dropped “Pitt” from their last name, the last one last August.
