Géraldine Maillet: “Terminally ill…”, her unfiltered confessions about modeling

Like Gilles Verdez, Valérie Benaïm or Jean-Michel Maire, Géraldine Maillet is one of the recurring faces of TPMP. Indeed, the ex-model, now an author, is a regular on Cyril Hanouna's set on C8. Every evening, she debates and gives her opinion on current affairs or social issues. A moment that she considers “a family dinner.”

However, it was in a completely different atmosphere that she began her career. Géraldine Maillet started modeling in the 90s. At the time, she worked with the greatest photographers and paraded for Yves Saint Laurent, John Galliano and Issey Miyake. A few years later, she left the podiums to devote herself entirely to
writing. Today she releases her 19th baptized novel My tiny (Ed.
Harper Collins).

Géraldine Maillet talks about the illness that affects her grandmother

Podcast guest Censorship of our Belgian colleagues from Télépro, Géraldine Maillet promoted her latest book. In her new work, she recounts the journey of her grandmother, aged 92, who suffered from Alzheimer's disease. Very close to the one she affectionately calls Mamie Téti, the columnist saw her existence be upset
by the announcement of the diagnosis. “I think, for me, it was a particle accelerator”she said.

And to continue: “First of all, experiencing drama like that, well, it makes you age. It makes you age in maturity. It makes you age prematurely. The body ages. The mind ages because it's a shock even if, at 92 years old, it is in the order of things”she commented before making a link with her former profession, when she walked for the greatest couturiers.

Géraldine Maillet: “I was told that I was an old model”

In the podcast CensorshipGéraldine Maillet looked back, without filter, on her years of modeling and the image she was able to project at the time. At 21, I was told that I was an old model. I spent my life being awake.”she said.

“At 21, I'm an old model but, all the same, I work. At 27, when I stop modeling, then, frankly, I'm good for the EHPAD for models. I'm definitely in the terminal phase of modelingshe continued, adding: “I have always been aware of the fact that everything stops very quickly and everything can change very quickly”. A speech full of humility against a backdrop of hope from Daniel Riolo's partner.
