They are currently promoting a book.“The Splendid on The Splendid”, without their friend, Michel Blanc. This November 21, 2024, Josiane Balasko, Thierry Lhermitte, Gérard Jugnot and Bruno Moynot are the guests of Elise Lucet, in Special Envoy on France 2.
A little over a month after the burial of the interpreter of Jean-Claude Dusse, together, they returned to his disappearance. And one detail in particular surprised them.
This detail on Michel Blanc's coffin
“It was absurd to think he was in that box, frankly he was with us” explained Thierry Lhermitte. “Yes, it seemed like he was aligned with us in the Church”added Bruno Moynot.
“Not necessarily, because he was always late and very… he didn't want to come”then joked Gérard Jugnot. And Josiane Balasko confirmed: “to things in common, yes”.
Elise Lucet then returned to the year 2021. It was that year that the César academy finally rewarded the Splendid for his work. Behind the success of some of the greatest French comedies, such as the saga of “Tanned”but also “Grandpa resists“, or “Santa Claus is trash“, it was time to mark the occasion, indeed.
To the members she interviewed (Christian Clavier and Marie-Anne Chazel were absent), she then asked: “There, today, here, in this theater, without him, it's not easy for you“.
And Josiane Balasko replied: “And at the same time he is with us“. Gérard Jugnot also estimated: “we didn't see each other much, he's not missing in everyday life, but he's missing the idea that we'll never do anything together again”.
His touching last words
Josiane Balasko added: “Besides, he has never been with us this much since he left. We think about it all the time, firstly because people make you think about it again“. Her friend felt about Michel Blanc that he “had a genius for formulas”. And Gérard Jugnot confirmed: “He was an outstanding dialogue writer.”
As proof, Thierry Lhermitte mentioned the last lines he wrote. The actor explained: “There, during the book, we talked a little more because we had things to say to each other about photos and things, etc.”. And Gérard Jugnot concludes: “And what he wrote is very touching too“.
