Leonardo DiCaprio paid tribute to Kate Winslet on Tuesday, November 19, in Los Angeles, during the special screening of the film Lee Millerin which the actress takes center stage.
Their friendship is unsinkable. Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio were 22 and 23 respectively when they met in 1997 on the set of Titanic . After its release in 1998, the film directed by James Cameron was nominated 14 times for the Oscars, won 11 awards and propelled the duo's career. Twenty-six years later, Titanic is still a cult film that continues to make entire generations cry and the interpreters of Jack and Rose still maintain a solid friendship. They proved it again on November 19, during the special screening of the film Lee Miller in Los Angeles, in which Kate Winslet plays the main role.

During the introduction to Ellen Kuras' film, Leonardo DiCaprio paid tribute to Kate Winslet. “Kate, my dear friend, your work in this film has been nothing short of transformative,” he said on stage at the Harmony Gold cinema. The actor then invited the audience to applaud the actress who took the stage, presenting her as “one of the greatest talents of on generation”.
The duo then took time for an embrace before the actress spoke. They were also photographed, embracing, in front of the film's poster.
The secrets to the longevity of their friendship
Almost a year ago, in December 2023, in an interview given to Entertainment TonightKate Winslet spoke about the longevity of this relationship. “There's no 'Wait, I'll call you tomorrow,'” the 49-year-old actress explained.
