TF1 is preparing to unveil a promising new series:
Commander Saint-Barth. In this light and humorous fiction, Florent Peyre plays Gabriel Saint-Barthélémy, an atypical commander returning to his native island after years of absence.

The dreamy Caribbean decor contrasts with the ambiance
crazy investigations that the main character faces. Between childhood memories and improbable investigations, Saint-Barth will have to solve the mystery of the death of a young beachgoer, found hanging from a coconut tree.
With its light tone and eccentric characters, the series follows in the footsteps of successes like
HPI or Panda. Everything is carried by a convincing casting: Joyce Bibring (A suspicion), Philypa Phoenix (Balthazar), Yannig Samot (Red Bracelets), and of course Florent Peyre in the title role. The series, directed by Denis Thybaud, will be broadcast from November 21 on TF1.
The importance of rituals for Florent Peyre
Although Florent Peyre is now comfortable in the spotlight, he nonetheless remains attached to personal rituals that help him manage the pressure. During an interview given to
Yahooin 2022, the comedian revealed a little-known part of his preparation. “It's true, I'm very superstitious. It's not getting better, but I'm maintaining it a little. This last year, I have worked a lot on myself, I do a lot of meditation and positive thinking, and it works really well. But superstition is something I guard against. That is to say, if I don't do everything I'm used to doing, it doesn't matter.”he confided.
The 44-year-old artist admits to having, in the past, postponed performances to fulfill his habits. Today, the latter prefers to rely on soothing practices. “It’s more of a ritual. I like to have an hour to myself before my show for my little habits. I have to do my vocalizations to warm up my voice, yoga to warm up my body, my little meditation to warm up the mind…”he explained. However, his rituals are not limited to these quiet moments. Florent Peyre also keeps symbolic gestures that connect him to those close to him and to his deep values.
A special connection with his family
At the heart of Florent Peyre's rituals, his family occupies an essential place. Before going on stage or filming, the comedian takes the time to think of his wife and son through touching gestures. “I have to listen to this music, I have to put on the perfume that my mother or my sister gave me, I have to kiss the photo of my wife and my son, I have to kiss the straw that I offered my son to bring me good luck. I have to touch this, I have to think that, in short, it's a long time.”he reveals with emotion. These small gestures, although trivial for some, are for him a source of balance and serenity.
These habits mark an important transition between his personal life and his role as an artist. Even in different contexts, such as his participation in
Dancing with the stars two years ago, Florent Peyre did not hesitate to integrate new rituals.
“I haven't created a new routine for DALS yet, but if it goes well in the first session, and I have the misfortune to remember something I did just before, you can be sure that I will do it again until the end.”he joked.
