“I fell into depression”: the touching secrets of Philippe Candeloro’s wife about their life and their relationship

Talented figure skater, Philippe Candeloro abandoned the competition on ice to return to dry land. For several years (and especially since he no longer comments on figure skating on 2 alongside Nelson Monfort), he has led a quieter life alongside his wife Olivia Darmon and their three daughters, Luna, Maya and Thalia. It was alongside one of them, Maya, who also made revelations, that Philippe Candeloro presented himself to Jordan, on C8, on November 20.

His wife was also there. With Jordan, the former figure skating choreographer made moving confessions about a difficult period in her life. A period during which she simply fell into depression for reasons that she detailed to the scoop specialist.

Olivia Darmon opens her heart about “depression for a while”

How is life with Philippe Candeloro? This is what Jordan sought to find out. And Olivia Darmon, married to the skater for more than 32 years, responded frankly: “We don’t get bored, frankly, we learn something every day,”
she declared. Even if she is very happy, this mother of three girls concedes that the beginnings with the founder of the Candeloro show were “complicated”.

And that's because of one thing: fame.
“I knew him, so I was 19-20 years old. Philippe started to be famous at 21, 22 years old. And from one day to the next, we could no longer go to restaurants, no longer go to the cinema, we could no longer do anything! And I had a pretty bad experience with it at the time.”delivered the speaker on ice. In addition to stealing her freedom of movement, this situation also caused a great feeling of loneliness in her, to the point of
“fell from depression for a long time”.

The permanent feeling of being “the wife of”, of being “invisible”

Olivia Darmon continued by saying that she continues to drag her husband's notoriety around like a ball and chain even today. In galas, in events, in public places… She remains the “wife of”, and this feeling of being “invisible” is heavy.

The French choreographer and artistic director made it clear that her husband nevertheless “always supported”. “Otherwise, we wouldn’t have been together for 32 years!” » she said. On set, the person concerned reacted in turn. “The problem is that Olivia wanted me to benefit from this notoriety (…) And even if it was hard for twenty years, I can't blame myself, because my life is to be with people »he concluded. Nevertheless, the couple affirmed it in unison: this media coverage was NEVER considered as a reason for a breakup. And, soon, Olivia and Philippe will celebrate their 33rdth year of living together!
