After forty-seven years of existence, the prestigious Menuhin Academy in Rolle sees its future threatened, to the great dismay of many musicians for whom the story of this musical adventure, born in a chalet in Gstaad, has made Switzerland known throughout the world.

In 2019, however, we predicted in our columns “a bright future” for the International Music Menuhin Academy (IMMA). The famous violinist Renaud Capuçon, with his characteristic enthusiasm, had just taken over as artistic director. “I want to give new impetus to this prestigious school,” he declared. Five years later, the Menuhin Academy is facing a 2 million franc gap, on a budget varying between 1.8 and 2 million depending on the year.
