Gall ready to do anything to save 10 cents? “She sent her secretary…”

We can almost say that the show Starmania is known to all generations. More than 40 years after its creation in 1979, the musical has returned to the forefront. Obviously, the singers are no longer the same but the show is just as thrilling and it is by Thomas Jolly, to whom we owe, among other things, the shows for the opening and closing ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games.

Fabienne Thibeault, who was one of the troupe's singers in the 80s, did not expect the show to last so long: “We felt that we were bringing something strong into the world, significant songs. But to think that we would be celebrating a 45th anniversary…“, she revealed on the set of Buzz TV magazine. However, this is not the only thing she confided in.

Fabienne Thibeault, of Quebec origin, was hosted when she came to Paris by the couple formed by Michel Berger, who wrote the music for Starmania, and Gall, who was not happy in the troupe. She therefore said more about their shared accommodation in a villa in the heart of the very chic 16th arrondissement of Paris, on Boulevard Beauséjour. Very pleasant memories with the missing couple which left a deep impression on her. But like everyone, whether Michel Berger or France Gall, the duo had flaws. And it's from the interpreter of Resists that Fabienne Thibeault spoke at greater length.

Fabienne Thibeault particularly remembers France Gall. The latter, who died of cancer on January 7, 2018 at the age of 70, is one of the most appreciated and renowned artists of the time. But what we knew less, however, was that she was obviously close to her money. In any case, this is what Fabienne Thibeault told Damien Canivez this Monday, November 18: “France Gall was a little stingybut hey I understand it. I'm not a spendthrift but I don't think about money.“Which was not the case for France Gall who”sent his secretary to buy a Camembert 1.5 km away on foot because it was a few cents cheaper!” She obviously had that je ne sais quoi that not everyone has.
