In less than a month, on December 14, France will elect its new beauty queen for the coming year. 30 regional Misses flew to Ivory Coast as part of the traditional preparation trip alongside Cindy Fabre. Maëva Coucke and Diane Leyre are also on the trip to be able to help and support them as best they can in this adventure. All these young women dream of succeeding Eve Gilles, Miss France 2024.
Among them, Miss Auvergne. And this last oneworks in a rather atypical and little-known profession. Romane Agostinho, aged 28, spoke exclusively to our colleagues at Télé-Loisirs.
Romane Agostinho: animal osteopath
Do we all know the profession of osteopath? But did you know that it also exists for animals? Romane Agostinho, Miss Auvergne is an animal osteopath. Passionate about animals, she explains where this desire was born. “I didn't know it at all, like a lot of people, I think. I had left to become a veterinarian and the more difficult side of the profession, such as euthanasia, appealed to me less, it was not what I wanted to do on a daily basis. There, the fact that it is alternative care, always when the patient is in good health and when the owner is looking for well-being for his animal, it is really another approach..” she declared.
A diploma that she obtained in 2022 and which earned her 8 years of study. A degree in biology then five years to become an animal osteopath. A little-known profession that the young woman is delighted to highlight. “I'm very happy to talk about it. Several of my colleagues are behind me because they say it's great for our profession which deserves to be better known. It's a very recognized area in the equine field for example, but dog and cat owners don't dare take the plunge so maybe it will help them.” she continued.
In addition to cats and dogs, Romane Agostinho also takes care of much less domesticated and docile animals. To Télé-Loisirs, she revealed that she had recently been busy “eagles and owls. It was an incredible experience with very sensitive animals with huge hearts.“
