Meagan Good and Jonathan Majors turn a new page in their love story by announcing their engagement, after a tumultuous start linked to the actor's legal problems.
A surprise announcement. The couple, who made their relationship official in May 2023, two months after the “Creed III” star was arrested for an assault on his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, revealed the news at the Ebony Power 100 event in Los Angeles. Meagan Good notably displayed a diamond engagement ring on the red carpet. “Ebony Power 100 is the event where we met in the unisex bathroom,” the actress said in an interview with E! News.
Meagan Good publicly supported her partner after his indictment for an attack on his ex-partner Grace Jabbari. Last July, Meagan Good, who finalized her divorce from Pastor DeVon Franklin in June 2022, told People that the couple had “instant chemistry” when they met.
A descent into hell
She was notably present at his side in court during the three weeks of the trial in November 2023, where the actor was found guilty of assault and harassment. He was sentenced last April to undergo domestic violence therapy for a year.
Before his legal troubles, Jonathan Majors was considered a rising star in Hollywood, with acclaimed performances in “Da 5 Bloods” (2020), “Lovecraft Country” (2020), “Devotion” (2022) and ” Creed III” (2023), with Michael B. Jordan. He was also set to play a pivotal role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Kang the Conqueror in “Avengers: Kang Dynasty.” However, after his conviction, the studios announced the actor's dismissal from future projects.
In June, the fallen star landed his first major role since his conviction, joining the cast in the thriller “Merciless,” by Martin Villeneuve, the younger brother of Denis Villeneuve, scheduled to hit theaters in 2026.
