Going about his business on the other side of the Atlantic, the son of Charles III has completely withdrawn from the activities of the British monarchy for four years. However, according to several royal experts, he had, more than anyone else, a royal stature.
“Harry is a good prince,” says Tina Brown, biographer of Lady Diana and friend of the latter, in her new newsletter entitled Fresh Hell. The royal expert salutes the natural abilities of the son of Charles III to embody his royal role, as well as his magnetism, while regretting the trajectory his life has taken. Married to Meghan Markle, Prince William's brother has in fact retired from monarchical life and now resides in California with his wife and their two children, Lilibet and Archie. “The thing about Harry is that he’s great as Prince Harry. That's all he knows how to do. He is truly perfect in this area. And that's the tragedy: he is, without a doubt, the most talented member of the royal family,” she said.
If he seems rejected by his family, and vice versa, his charisma and his ease in his royal role had already been highlighted by experts other than Tina Brown. Former BBC royal correspondent Jenny Bond said on the show Royal Exclusive of Sun : “Having seen him grow up and knowing him a little, he was a wonderful little boy and a charming and jovial teenager. » And added: “He was brilliant for the royal family, bringing a natural closeness with the public. He would have been a valuable asset if he had stayed…”. And remember that he was once the most popular member of the monarchy, and favorite grandson of Queen Elizabeth II.
As reported by the American version of Marie Claire Jenny Bond has often reiterated these remarks, notably in an interview with the magazine OK! : “I think it makes us realize what we lost with Harry,” she explained. He is so empathetic, endearing, involved, funny, natural and friendly. What a loss for the royal family!”
Strong criticism
However, it should be remembered that Prince Harry, younger brother of Prince William, “exiled” to California in 2020 with his wife and their children, voluntarily distancing himself from his family. Upon his departure, he denounced in the American media that a form of “latent racism” from which Meghan Markle would have suffered within the royal family, in particular because of her origins, and by extension their son Archie. Between their documentary on Netflix (Harry et Meghan) et The Substitutethe autobiography of Prince Harry, an explosive book particularly aimed at his older brother and Queen Camilla, the couple came under strong criticism from many royal sympathizers, accused of monetizing their links with the Crown to serve their own interests.
