Michel Sardou, the huge check made to Restos du coeur, Maryse Gildas reveals the incredible amount

This Tuesday, November 19, 5 will broadcast a new documentary to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the launch of Restos du Coeur. On this occasion, many personalities who made it possible to talk about this initiative launched by Coluche in 1985 will be highlighted, starting with the former comedian, who died in 1986.

If one name seems to particularly stand out, it is the one… by Michel Sardou. And for good reason! Interviewed this Sunday, November 17 in the show CMediaMaryse Gildas, former journalist from Europe 1 radiopresent on the day of the launch of Restos du Cœur, notably confided the large amount of money that the famous singer had offered.

Michel Sardou donates a fortune to Restos du Cœur

In 1985, Coluche, then host on Europe 1launched an appeal to all those who listened to it with one and only goal: to raise awareness about the creation of a canteen which would offer, every day, thousands of free meals for the most deprived. Forty years later, this call led to the creation of a structure that is among the best known in France: Restos du Cœur. Thus, a few months before the celebration of the fortieth anniversary of Restos du Cœur, France 5 will broadcast a documentary specially dedicated to to the history of the association.

The opportunity, in particular, to return to this famous radio show, hosted by Coluche on Europe 1, which saw many artists and friends of the comedian, at the time, come to the radio studio and make a donation. Journalist at Europe 1 at the time, Maryse Gildas spoke about the memories she has of that day and a certain Michel Sardou : “The biggest check? I was next to Michel Sardou when he passed by: he gave a hundred thousand francs, what!”.

Donors with big hearts

Marked by this day which she will always remember, Maryse Gildas remembers that Michel Sardou was not the only one to answer the call. Throughout the day, many people, more or less knowntook turns at Europe 1 to also make a donation for the Restos du Cœur.
