In a video posted on her Instagram account, former host and actress Cécile Siméone recounted having been punched by a cyclist on Friday November 14 at Mulatière.
Cécile Siméone still has a trembling voice as she recounts on her Instagram account the mishap that happened to her the day before. “When I talk to you about it, it still moves me”she whispers. While she was driving on the way from Fontanières to La Mulatière, Friday November 15, the former host, now an interior decorator, had a violent altercation with a cyclist.
“I didn’t think I’d get hit one day for nothing, I still can’t believe it.”
“I overtake a cycle and I see him agitating in my rear-view mirror. I say to myself 'he must not be happy, he must have thought that I passed too close to him', which is absolutely not the case”she says. Arriving at the red light at the end of this winding path, the cyclist then passed her before placing his bike on the bumper of the car. “I'm not afraid, so I open my window and ask him 'What are you doing?' and this man hit me […] I got punched in the ear.”she says, still shocked.
She appeals to communities
This type of incivility between road users is not rare, believes the former presenter. Also, it calls for the responsibility of communities. “There are horrible things happening because our cities are in bad shape”she considers, before drawing the parallel with Lyon where her store is located: “Lyon is becoming a pedestrian city so we are experiencing that, we hear people yelling at each other”.
Frustrated at not being able to file a complaint against the cyclist, due to not being able to identify him, the native of Oullins suggests “legislate” to put “from license plates to bicycles”.
