Women of the royal family of Spain at the Nuevo Futuro market
The Nuevo Futuro association's charity flea market has become an annual event, “registered in the agenda of the jet set”writes the newspaper El Español. “Although people from all social classes participate, it positions itself as a solidarity market where royalty, aristocracy and the most notable personalities of our country come together.” The visibility of the event is due to the long-standing commitment of members of the Spanish royal family.

Infanta Pilar, older sister of King Juan Carlos, was the godmother of this flea market organized a month before Christmas. For years, Infanta Pilar helped organize and promote this event, which raises funds for Nuevo Futuro, an association that manages foster homes for minors taken from their parents. Since the death of Infanta Pilar in 2020, it is her daughter, Simoneta Acebo-Gómez, who has taken up the torch.

Queen Sofia meets her sister-in-law Margarita at the solidarity market
This Thursday, November 14, Infanta Elena, eldest daughter of King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia, inaugurated this year's flea market, at the request of her cousin Simoneta. The next day, Friday November 15, Queen Sofia, 86, also visited this flea market where she was able to meet the Infanta Margarita. For many years, Queen Sofia has supported the event. Another important royal connection, King Felipe VI himself is an honorary member of Nuevo Futuro.
Infanta Margarita, Duchess of Soria and Hernani, aged 85, took the trouble to go to the Crystal Gallery of the Cibeles Palace where this temporary market is located. Infanta Margarita, who uses a wheelchair, wanted to show her support for this cause long defended by her sister.
