In an interview given to Figaroon the occasion of the release of his biography Born to play (editions Robert Laffont), Pierre Arditi spoke candidly on sensitive subjects that touch him deeply. Known for his commitment to the left, the actor expressed his reservations regarding current developments in society.

“Wokism annoys me and inclusive writing is bullshit,” he said. According to him, the defense of women's rights must go beyond questions of grammar: “I am not suspect, I owe everything to women! […] Including women in my life has always been instinctive for me.”
“They don’t need that.”
For him, the inclusive form does not change anything about their place in society: “It doesn't take anything away from them to put a plural in the masculine form when there are two genders. They don't need that. They know very well how to raise when men behave badly towards them and I fully support them,” he explains.
