Clara Luciani is one of the most talented French artists of her generation. Five years after leaving the group La Femme, the singer became known to the general public thanks to her first album, entitled Sainte-Victoire. This opus, which includes 11 titles, received a good reception in the press and the song In Grenada quickly became a success, so much so that the artist won the Stage Revelation prize at the Victoires de la Musique.

Guest of the show The Papotin Meetings on France 2, Clara Luciani indulged in some confidences about her physical complexes. “Actually, to be completely honest, I try to forget as much as possible about my physique and what I look like because otherwise it bothers me too much. And then I'm not comfortable with myself so I try to keep in mind that I'm a singer and so it doesn't really matter what I look like. That I'm here to sing”confides the one whose large size was a source of ridicule at school.

In a documentary dedicated to the singer, available on Prime Video, she bluntly revealed that photos with fans were the most complicated exercise for her. “I don't have to be confronted with my image too much. I have trouble even when relatives take photos at Christmas, so imagine when someone asks me for a selfie in the street, I'm extremely uncomfortable. “I'm comfortable with it. It's not because I'm unpleasant or I'm big-headed, it's just that I'm uncomfortable with the photos. That's how it is.”

Pierre Cornet, one of its producers, explained for his part: “There is a kind of inferiority complex because she had a bad time during certain years of her adolescence where she was too tall, she had a voice that was too deep, she didn't think she was beautiful and people told her that she was different.” As her artistic director, Agathe Olivier, confided, the godmother of the Star Academy knew how to use her complexes to become what she is today.
