Béatrice de la Boulaye opens up about her fight against breast cancer: “We’re putting your foot in the grave”

The confinement disrupted the life of Béatrice de la Boulay, and for a very specific reason. “Without the confinement which left me free time to do examinations, and without the zeal of a few doctors, we would not have detected it.she confides in the latest issue of Ici , returning to the breast cancer against which she fought a few years ago.

The actress, who underwent a mastectomy (breast removal) to remove the cancerous tumor, tells our colleagues that she discovered her illness at the very time she was considering having her breasts reduced. “My breasts had lost two stories (laughs). So I was starting to find out when I was diagnosed with a fairly aggressive 2 millimeter carcinoma.”she explains, specifying that “it was quite dizzying“. But in her misfortune, the actress admits to having “got lucky” since she was able to heal “without chemo, with an operation“. “The problem is that by saying the word cancer you are putting your foot in the grave“, she also slips.

Without filter, she returns to the removal of her breast and its relationship with her new body. “It’s the first step. I understood it so quickly that the surgeon thought I was in denial”admits the actress who “immediately loved her body” after this delicate operation. “The silhouette is respected but naked, it’s more delicate and very different in terms of sensuality. I no longer have a real breast on the right, but a prosthesis, with a big scar in the middle. And they had to tattoo my areola… My husband admitted to me that it hadn't been so easy to get used to. But everything is surmountable when we are together“, she explains before advising everyone to do early detection. Béatrice de la Boulaye also greets “the solidarity that was put in place” when she spoke about her illness. She particularly mentions this woman who sent her a photo of her chest so that she could see the result of a breast removal. “ “It breaks down the barrier of distrust.”
