How can you not mention Michel Blanc when you receive a member of the Splendid troupe on your set? Since October 3 and the death of the French actor at the age of 72 following a heart attack following an anaphylactic shock, the world of French cinema has been in mourning. The actor's funeral on October 10 at the Saint-Eustache church in Paris allowed Christian Clavier, Marie-Anne Chazel and Thierry Lhermitte to pay a final tribute to the one they all loved deeply.
Guest of Telematin this Thursday, November 7, Gérard Jugnot came to talk about the latest film in which he stars, We should have gone to Greecethe preview of which took place the same evening at the Cinéma CGR Porte des Lilas in Paris (photos can be found in the slideshow). The opportunity for Gérard Jugnot to say what irritated him regarding the tributes paid to Michel Blanc for more than a month. “There is something that bothered me, it was that we talked a lot about Jean-Claude Dusse, who was really his creation. He wrote it, he designed it, he took responsibility for it, but he did lots of other things, much deeper… I don't like the word profound because comedy is deep, except that there is a mask. Let's say it's a little more cultural. …and again, I don't like those words”declared the one we saw still upset 3 weeks after his friend's departure.
A book about the Splendid troupe will be released at the end of November
When the journalist asks Gérard Jugnot what remains today of “actor” and of “the man”the latter has a hard time answering. “It's difficult to talk about this because I I met him in fourth grade… We didn't see each other much… We didn't see each other much anymore because… We saw each other from time to time”explains the actor, in a relationship with Patricia, a woman 30 years younger than him, before revealing the last beautiful joint project they had: “There is a book coming out. This is very important. It was the last thing he participated in. It was Thierry who organized this for the benefit of medical research – ironically – and we all took out our old photosa little personal sometimes and everyone responded to their photos and it's a pretty wonderful book that I find very beautiful and which will be released at the end of November.”
An essential for all lovers of the troupe, entitled The Splendid by the Splendid, we had so much fun! (Le Cherche-Midi) and a final moving project for Gérard Jugnot and Michel Blanc.
