The Guelmeur district in Brest is enriched with a new fresco by Wen2

The Guelmeur district is the Saint-Marcois sector benefiting the most from exterior wall frescoes, with in particular the long colored strip on the wall of the Diwan school. Through the 2022 participatory budget, a new pictorial representation being executed by Brestois Wen 2 enriches this local heritage.

This project, from the Projet 0.0 association, allowed six artists to each create a fresco on one of the six major Brest districts. In Guelmeur on a facade at 30, rue Georges-Mélou, Brestois Wen 2 is carrying out the seventh project there which is already looking great: “I am a child of Saint-Marc where I have ties,” says Gwendal Huet alias Wen 2, who has created many frescoes in France and internationally. The techniques used have evolved a lot over time: “So it is my mobile phone which serves as a reference for my creations with benchmarks, including these letters on the facade, in order to adapt the change of scale…”, shares ‘artist. For the record, the Projet 0.0 association, of which Wen 2 is a part, “was born in 2013 at the time of Crimes of Mind, a triggering factor for street art in Brest,” says Vincent Bramoullé, its president.

The fresco is a must-see.
