Blake Lively once again taken to task by social networks

AND! News published, on Tuesday, October 29, a video in which the actress arrives on the red carpet of the CFDA Awards. A post under which Internet users took up, at her expense, controversial comments made by the actress.

She appeared wearing a white dress, with her hand on her stomach, at the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards ceremony in New York. A detail which has, to say the least, caught the attention of Internet users. Some of them have in fact commented on a video of Blake Lively, filmed alongside Michael Kors on the red carpet of the event, on Monday October 28, and published on the Instagram account ofAND! News the day after. “Congratulations on your little belly!”, joked multiple subscribers under the post.

Contrary to what one might think, these messages pointing out the actress' supposedly rounded belly do not suggest a potential pregnancy. These comments rather refer to a controversial interview with the actress, dated 2016. In the midst of controversy surrounding the “tense” promotion of the film Never again (It ends with usin English), released this summer, a Norwegian journalist, Kjersti Flaa, had in fact revealed in August her own “nightmarish” experience with the interpreter of Serena van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl.

The controversy It Ends With Us

She shared on her YouTube channel a sequence entitled “The Blake Lively interview that made me want to quit”, viewed more than 5.6 million times since; an interview carried out at the time as part of the promotion of the film Cafe Societyby Woody Allen. We first see the journalist congratulating the actress, who has just announced that she is pregnant with her second child, for her “little belly”. To which Blake Lively retorts, sarcastically: “Congratulations on your little belly.”

Kjersti Flaa subsequently questions the actress and her co-stars about what they thought of their costumes in the feature film. “Everyone always wants to talk about clothes, but I wonder if we would ask men about that,” Blake Lively responds, looking at her filming partner Parker Posey. “For my part, I would,” reacts Kjersti Flaa. Without success.

An exchange which aroused the indignation of Internet users, because of the way in which Blake Lively tries, according to them, to intimidate the reporter. At the same time, the wife of Ryan Reynolds, who would be on bad terms with director Justin Baldoni, was accused of using the promotion of their film It Ends With Us to advertise his line of hair products. All this, without addressing the subject of domestic violence, which is at the heart of the feature film. An episode that has obviously not finished haunting Blake Lively.
