Benjamin Castaldi performed his participation in “Loft Story” at the casino

Certainly, the Loft has the wind in its sails. Since the launch of the series Worship which lifts the veil behind the scenes of the iconic 2001 reality show, the revelations multiply. Benjamin Castaldi also has his share of anecdotes to tell.

Anyone who believes that his on-screen character “comes across as an idiot” almost didn't present the program. This is what he said when he came to the Laurent restaurant in with his friend Tony Gomez, a Parisian nightlife figure and former boss of the very select club L'Etoile. The latter urged him to confide in the way he accepted the presentation of this program of a new genre for the time.

“If the six comes out…”

The host, who now works on the Europe 2 morning show, didn't have to be asked.

“I'm being called. At the time, you had the Étoile, I came with (Jérôme) Béglé, a young journalist who became boss of Paris Matchand I don't know what to do. So we're going to have dinner at your place at the Étoile and I say: “Well listen, you know what, I'm going to go put a chip on the six at the casino, if the six comes out, I'll do the Loft. »

The one who was then 31 years old went to Enghien-les-Bains. “I bet on six. The six falls. I earn a little money, I come back and we party together again,” smiles the man who has since encountered financial difficulties.

A winning bet and perhaps something to strengthen the ties between Tony Gomez and the Castaldi family. The businessman also confided on Instagram to maintaining “four generations of friendship” with the clan of artists. “I knew Simone Signoret, the great-grandmother, in 1975, Jean-Pierre, the grandfather, in 1984, Benjamin in 1990 and Simon, the son, since his early childhood… It doesn't make me any younger ! », concedes the one who recently received the illustrious family for Jean-Pierre Castaldi's birthday.
