In an interview with Paris Match, the new presenter of Télématin, Julien Arnaud, revealed what was the first reaction of his friend Anne-Sophie Lapix when she learned of his appointment as joker on the 8 p.m. news on France 2.

Anne-Sophie Lapix will soon be entitled to a new joker to replace her during her leave. Indeed, Julien Arnaud will present the public channel’s television news during his colleague’s vacation. This exercise is not new to him. Because he has been Gilles Bouleau’s joker on TF1’s 8 p.m. news since the latter’s appointment in 2012.
For the record, Julien Arnaud was one of the historic figures of the TF1 group before arriving on France Télévisions at the start of the school year. In fact, the host chose to take on a new challenge after spending 27 years on the first channel. He thus took the helm of Télématin in a duet with Flavie Flament on France 2. On this occasion, he also found his long-time friend, Anne-Sophie Lapix.

The two journalists have already been colleagues in the past, when they worked together on LCI in the late 90s. “He was the most welcoming. And the most friendly with the new ones“, revealed Anne-Sophie Lapix in particular when speaking about Julien Arnaud, during an interview granted to
Paris Match. For his part, the former presenter of the 8 p.m. news on TF1 took advantage of this cross-interview with his friend to talk about his nomination to the position of joker on the 8 p.m. news on France 2.
“I saw Anne-Sophie on the red carpet of the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Games. Me, I was in my office at TF1 and I was crying. I really wanted to experience this from the inside“, he first indicated, not without humor. Julien Arnaud then revealed that he had called Anne-Sophie Lapix before leaving TF1 to join France 2.

During their conversation, Anne-Sophie Lapix told Julien Arnaud that the presentation of Télématin would be an exercise that would suit him perfectly. Now colleges within the public service, the two presenters also called each other when Flavie Flament’s new sidekick was named joker on the 8 p.m. news on France 2. “The first thing she said to me was:
‘I swear to you that I will give you my vacation dates as soon as possible. I won’t make you wait“, underlined the former figure of TF1 in particular.
The two faces of France 2 also spoke about their previous collaboration at LCI. “It was a bit like college for us. There was music. Anne-Sophie was dancing on the tables. People were smoking in the editing rooms“, for example revealed Julien Arnaud. “When Anne-Sophie and Nathalie (Renoux, editor’s note) left. I was sad. Afterwards, it was no longer the same.
