Belgium, often described as the country of surrealism, also holds exhibitions on this artistic movement. It was obvious that the Belgian royal couple would choose this theme to organize their traditional thank-you evening to which Prince Eudes of Orléans was invited with his wife, Princess Marie-Liesse.
Prince Eudes, Duke of Angoulême, is the brother of the Count of Paris, current head of the royal family of France. Prince Eudes and King Philippe are distant cousins, both being descendants of King Louis-Philippe I. The French king was the father of Louise d’Orléans, the wife of King Leopold I, the first king of the Belgians.

For this prestigious evening, Queen Mathilde wore an outfit by Natan. The Belgian fashion house has created a beautiful semi-sheer and shiny cape. She wore her gold and diamond bracelet from the jeweler Sterlé on her wrist, a piece of jewelry that the queen has worn several times in the past.
