Cult (Prime Video): what happens to David from Loft Story, who gave up after 6 days

While the series “ Worship“, inspired by the behind-the-scenes of Loft Story, is about to land on Prime Video on October 18, 2024, let’s take a look back at David’s atypical journey.

In 2001, Loft Story appeared on M6, shaking up the French audiovisual landscape. Among the 13 candidates aged 20 to 29, a certain David Cohen was going to make an impression despite a brief stint on the show.

An early retirement for David from Loft Story

At 25, David Cohen joined the cast of the first season of Loft Story with his boundless energy and eccentric side. However, the adventure was cut short for the young Marseillais who decided to give up after only six days. The reason? The confinement weighs on him and affects his morale.

Despite this premature departure, David Cohen succeeds in making an impression on viewers. His passage in the loft toilets, where he locks himself with his rain stick, remains engraved in the memories of aficionados of the program. This surreal scene helps to make him one of the most atypical candidates of this first edition.

From artistic ambitions to disillusionment for David Cohen

After leaving the loft, David Cohen tried to capitalize on his emerging notoriety to break into the world of music. He settled in and pursued his artistic ambitions. Unfortunately, success was not forthcoming.

In an interview he gave us in 2011, he confided: “Before joining the Loft, I was in music. After my release, I continued in the artistic field. I came to live in Paris. But I couldn’t make a living from it.”

Faced with these difficulties, the former loft builder is forced to reinvent himself professionally. He then turned to a new path, far from the spotlight.

An unexpected reconversion far from glitter for David from Loft STory

Now 49 years old, David Cohen has finally found his calling in a field far removed from show business. The latest news is that he works as a home coach, dividing his time between Paris and his hometown, .

Now I do coaching at home and I divide my time between Paris and Marseille”, he explained a few years ago. He also confided: “If I had to do it again, I would do it but differently, in a calmer way. Only for fun without expecting anything in return at a professional level!”

Unlike some of his former friends from the loft, David Cohen has completely disappeared from the screens and no longer maintains contact with the other participants in the show. He had in fact not participated in the 20th anniversary of the program in 2021 alongside his former classmates…
