Now back on his feet, the 41-year-old singer said he had had two very complicated years. Especially when his grandmother lost her life. “My grandmother’s departure”he revealed when Maxime Chattam’s partner asked him what was the trigger for his dark period.

Keen’V in depression for two years

It’s not death in itself, because I have a relationship with death that is ‘normal’.”however clarified Keen’V before adding: “It’s not the fact of losing the person or the body, it’s really the guilt that I had. Because in itself, I was on tour for my 7th album, and I had to see her, I came back from filming I was extremely tired and I told him ‘I’ll come see you tomorrow’… but the problem is that there was no ‘tomorrow'”.

Feeling guilty, the singer sank into depression for two years before recovering. Curious to know the daily life of the 41-year-old artist during these two years, Faustine Bollaert then questioned him on this point.

The singer’s destructive daily life

“I smoked twice as much, I drank a lot, a lot, even too much, then it’s a spiral, you smoke so you don’t do yourself any good, then you drink, you don’t do yourself much more good, afterwards you don’t eat very well either, you don’t do sports, in fact you don’t do anything very positive and everything stays…”he explains bluntly.

This complicated period also gave birth to his album “Therapy”. “It’s not the happiest album of my career and it doesn’t sound like Keen’V at all”laughs the singer before recognizing: “I was very happy, artistically I’m very happy with the album, it’s very good, I’m very happy to have done it, I will never deny it”.

Nevertheless, this project is that of his “failure”. “Actually I lost my grandmother, I’m depressed, I’m not feeling good, I’m canceling a tour… all that sent me into a tailspin”he recognized once again.
