He is not a sports teacher but could very well have given some advice to future candidates of the Star Academy. Hugues Hamelynck is the new theater teacher in the TF1. Replacing Pierre de Brauer, the Belgian gave some indications about the lessons he will give at the Château de Dammarie-les-Lys in the coming days.
Indeed, from October 12, 2024, he, Malika Benjelloun, or even Pierre Garnier, will return to service and train the students of the new promotion. In fact, as the return of the Star Academy approaches, the theater professor gave an interview to David Barbet for the podcast Censorship.
Hugue Hamelynck’s style of lessons at the Star Academy
When he came, the Belgian actor and director, known for his modern approach to theater, first indicated what style he wanted to give to his classes. “I have prepared a series of lessons. There will be improvisation but also theater with text”he first promised our colleague.
Before specifying: “We will be able to replay a cult scene from the cinema. I want to work on duets with, for example, replaying a scene from ‘The Goat’. I am strict but fair. I believe that I will be the link between Pierre and Oscar. The production asked me that.” A way to warn future students of the Star Academy.
The new teacher, transformed
And if we mention a possible legitimacy as a sports teacher, it is because Hugues Hamelynck has transformed himself over the years. Indeed, still with David Barbet, the Belgian revealed that he had lost a lot of kilos, thanks to sport.
Nevertheless, if the theater teacher of the Star Academy wanted to practice an activity, it is also to protect their health. “I play sports because I had medical obligations to play sports following a big problem”he confided before revealing: “I lost weight, the look in the mirror changed. I weighed 100 kilos and now I weigh 84 kilos.”
