For his mother, P. Diddy “is not a monster”

Janice Smalls Combs, mother of P. Diddy, breaks the silence and expresses her unwavering support for her son in the midst of a legal storm. While the famous rapper faces serious accusations of sex trafficking and assault, his mother released a statement to defend the man she always calls Sean Combs.

“I speak to you today as a mother who is devastated and deeply saddened by the allegations made against my son, Sean Combs,” she begins in this statement shared by her lawyer, Natlie G. Figgers. The tone is serious, the words weighed. “It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created from lies. Witnessing what feels like a public lynching of my son before he has had the opportunity to prove his innocence is a pain too unbearable to describe in words.”

Janice Smalls Combs denounces what she perceives as an premature condemnation. She demands that her son be able to explain himself in court. “My son is not a monster and he deserves to be able to tell his side of the story. I can only pray that he has the chance to tell his story and that the judge rules in his favor,” she insists.

However, she does not claim that her son is blameless. Janice Smalls Combs acknowledges that Sean Combs may have made mistakes, particularly regarding the accusations made by his former partner, singer Cassie. Diddy always denied assaulting her, until surveillance footage released by CNN in the spring, from 2016, showed him violently beating her in a Los Angeles hotel.

“Not being entirely forthright on an issue does not mean that my son is guilty of the repugnant and serious allegations against him,” she says, emphasizing that these errors should not be interpreted as evidence of guilt. for the other charges.

Last month, P. Diddy was arrested on charges of sex trafficking and extortion, charges he denies outright by pleading not guilty. Despite this, his release on bail has been denied twice, and the artist is currently in pre-trial detention at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, awaiting trial.
