Géraldine Maillet facing cyberharassment: “I filed a complaint”

Victim of malicious comments on social networks, the columnist of TPMP comes out of the silence. In an interview with Sud Radio this Friday, October 4, Géraldine Maillet discusses her relationship with “haters” and reveals that she has initiated legal proceedings.

On Sud Radio, the 52-year-old novelist and columnist chose to dot the i’s. “I haven’t looked at the comments for years. I’m not interested. This isn’t real life.”she said straight away. Confronted with a particularly virulent comment regarding her book “Ma Minuscule”in which she talks about her grandmother’s stroke, Géraldine Maillet wanted to correct: “She’s alive, my grandmother.” For the columnist, these attacks represent “a sort of gutter of thought” which she describes as “speculative bubblee” sans importance.

From words to action: a complaint filed

Despite her apparent indifference, Géraldine Maillet does not hesitate to take concrete measures when the situation requires it. “I find it very good to file a complaint. I congratulate those who file a complaint. I filed a complaint once about a post that was completely defamatory and false,” she revealed.

Although justice is “very long” according to him, the case having not “Not yet” been judged, the columnist persists in her approach. His philosophy nevertheless remains unchanged: “If it calms, if it relieves people to write that, good for them.”
